Closing the Door

"There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven" - Ecclesiastes 3:1

"It's sad that silence has become normal between us. Not the nice kind of silence, or the comfortable kind of silence. But the awkward kind of silence, like between strangers. Our silence is an avoidance of the truth."

As much as I want to keep trying to fix things between us, I think I've done more than enough of my share to bridge a gap that I didn't initiate or create. I can honestly say I did my best to pick up the pieces and put them back to the way it was. But try and try as I might, the effort is one sided, my side. My side that you didn't even listen to.

You may say I am giving up on our friendship, I say I am just accepting the fact that everything has it's end. Maybe ours is this. I wish it wasn't under this circumstance but everything has a reason. There's a time for everything, and everything has it's time and I think it's time for me to let go and say goodbye to a friendship I cherished and treasured. For my own peace of mind, for my own sanity, I am closing this door and walking away. It's sad, yeah, but I've cried my tears and there's nothing left. I'm okay now. Doing much better after learning how to accept. Now it's time for me to move on.

But thank you, though. I am not callous enough to not acknowledge that you've been a friend once upon a time. I'll cherish the laughter and the memories and I pray that God will continue to bless you on your life's journey. In time, if the roads of our lives converge again, I hope we could at least give each other a smile for old time's sake before we continue our life's walk.

I miss you more than I can bear, but we had our time together. I have to let you go.

On Change and Lifetime Friendship

They say "The only thing constant is change."

I believe that is true. You need to accept change in order to grow. But as much as I can accept it, it does not mean I can't feel sad about it.

I am in a place where change is about to happen. I can feel it's nearness and I feel sad about the things it will bring. A very dear friend is leaving and the mere fact that I won't be able to drop by her station and see her sweet smile brings tears to my eyes. You see, her sweet sweet smile brightens my day.

I still remember how, when we first met, we instantly fell into a comfortable conversation, like we've known each other for ages! What was a planned short dinner, turned into hours of laughter and non-stop chika. I felt like I could tell her anything without fear of being judged. I felt I could trust her completely and true enough, she never betrayed that trust. I remember, a week after we've met, I went through a really low time in my life. I felt there was no one I could trust, no one I could turn to, but she was there. She stuck by me and believed in me when no one did. She patiently listened to all my woes without judging me. She is truly a gem, a treasure in my life!

I admire her beauty and her sweetness. I love her wit and sense of humor. But don't let that sweet exterior fool you into messing with her because she is far from just being a lovely face! Apart from her beauty, this girl has brains and a fierce loyalty to whoever she loves. She will fight for them, believe me, I've seen her in one of her tirades and she bows to no one when she is right. For that, I truly know she is someone who I will consider, not only a friend, but a sister for more than a lifetime.

Kayie, I know that you'll be around and that we still live in the same country, but things will never be the same without you here. We haven't really seen each other for quite a while (the fault of which is mine, and is something I truly regret) but I hope you know that you will forever be my soul sister. I am sorry for hurting you countless of times, you don't deserve that and I will always feel sad for causing you pain. Thank you for being so understanding and for always being there for me. You never know how much that means.

I will miss our shopping trips and food trips and I hope we can still do that once in a while. Most of all, I will miss you and your sweet sweet smile. Like I said, you will always be welcome in my heart and in our home.

I am sad about you leaving, but also know that I am happy for you because I know you have been waiting for this for the longest time. Stay happy okay? All my love to your adorable Luiz and Keisha! I will truly miss you! I am not saying goodbye, instead, I'd like to say: see you around my sis, my marse, my friend.

Friendship Blooms in the Most Unexpected Places

It's funny how friendship blooms in the most unexpected time, place and circumstance.

I never expected to know you like I do now. Never expected a friendship to form. The world dictated we could never be friends. But true enough, friendship can never be contained by the rules of the world.

I am much older than you are and yet when I am with you I feel younger. Heck, your level of maturity even exceeds mine. LOL! You taught me so much, teaching me that first impression don't always last. I have come to know you as a person, maybe not inside out yet, but that is something I look forward to.

A, thank you for your support and understanding. For being there when I needed you. Thank you for the laughter - it takes away my stress. And for so many other things, thank you.

I look forward to knowing you more and learning more from you. I hope in my own little way, I can give something back. Here's to more years of friendship! :)

Another Weekend Story

Happy Monday! :)

How was your weekend? I hope all of you had a wonderful time.

Part of my weekend was celebrating my friend, Rache's birthday at their wonderful home. It was a simple yet awesome celebration. Good food courtesy of Rache's mom (Thanks Tita! The Caldereta and Kare-kare were scrumptuous), company of friends and never ending kuento. Rache was the ever gracious hostess! I was busy eating and chatting with Jen so there are a few pictures. Besides, I haven't mastered the S3IS during night shots (hate that noise :( ) so I'm a bit apprehensive to take shots. :P

You can view more pictures taken by Rache here.

Rest of the weekend was spent bonding with the husband. We're planning to buy my phone and my iPod by the end of the month so we canvassed different stores to find out about phone prices and features.

I am planning to get this:

Can you believe I survived without a cellphone for 3months now? :)

So there, that was my weekend. How was yours?

Catching Fire!

Oooh! Another movie for me to watch out for! Catching Fire will come to theaters November 22, 2013!  Here's a sneak peek of the releas...
