MY FAVORITE PART OF THE WEEK

My favorite part of the week is here! I love weekends because I get to spend time with the husbo!  The past 3 weeks have been hectic and sadly the husbo and I never got to spend time together.  He did made great efforts though and I am really touched. Now I've learned my lesson: never do office work on weekends.

No major plans for the weekend. We will just laze in bed and watch our favorite TV series. We will probably do some malling next week when we're both recharged. :)

So that's it, just wanted to say happy weekend everyone! Enjoy!

6TH

We turn 6 today and the husbo and I are off to celebrate somewhere. It's going to be something simple this year, eat out, watch a movie and probably get a massage.  We hope to take a trip sometime next year so a grand celebration will have to wait.  Doesn't really matter. All I know is we have each other. Cheesy! LOL!

I'll try to blog about our celebration later. We leave in a couple of minutes. Happy weekend everyone! :)

IS IT TIME TO WORK FROM HOME?

Today was great.  The husbo and I went out on a simple date. We just went to a nearby mall and shopped to our heart's content (a.k.a until our pockets were empty LOL!). It's a good thing most of the stores were offering items on sale. We were two happy shoppers!

This was the second date in two days and I am just happy.  Please pardon the shallowness, but when your work schedules only allow you to see each other 2 days in a week, you treasure the times you spend together - every single minute of it. No matter how simple, even if it's just eating breakfast together or waking up beside each other is already something to be thankful for.

Which really makes me think about my plans for next year - of quitting my job and just work from home full time.  It's a daunting thought and there's a lot to consider but so far, the pros outweigh the cons.

What's Up?

I am on a roll! I was out last weekend spending time with my parents that I wasn't able to take on assignments for my paid blogging sideline. So now, I am thankful that I still have tons of assignments to take. It's just that sometimes, I find it really hard to think of things to write, specially since I am more of a homebody - a homebody who would love to travel someday.

I also need to squeeze in taking opps at this time because later, I am off to work. Another Monday so that spells B-U-S-Y for me. Also, missing the husband is affecting my mood. He was on leave from work the whole week last week and is now on his first day at his new job. I miss his presence here beside me. Darn!

Work and Career

I went back to work today. And as expected, I sorted through hundreds of emails. Things were pretty okay. But towards the end of the shift i got really pissed off at someone. I mean, dude, where's your brain?! Do you even understand what I am talking about?! Or do you want me to spell it out? Grrr! Oh well, just another day in the office.

Because of my indignation. I went home early. I clocked out at exactly 5AM and left the office. Well, that was my sort of resolution since last week. To leave the office at the end of my shift no matter how much more work needs to be done. I mean, I can only do so much. I did my best, did not waste the company's time so I believe I am entitled to go home when my shift ends. I don't have OT pay anyway. :D

Besides, I just noticed that the husband and I rarely talk anymore since we don't get to see each other during the weekdays. It makes me sad. That's when I decided enough is enough. Nothing can ever replace a broken marriage. So now, when I go home early, I get to cook him breakfast and we get to eat breakfast together. Things have been going nicely since then.

I guess I just really need to find that balance. To manage my time more efficiently. Know my priorities. I know I can do it and I will.

A Decade of a Post - in other words a long read lol!

I had a nice weekend. Saturday was spent resting as I wasn't feeling very well. Probably due to the stress from work. The husband was as his usual patient self letting me sleep in and get some strength.

Sunday was our 10th anniversary so we had lunch in Trinoma. I know it sounds too boring but aside from the fact that we were on a budget, I wasn't feeling well enough to go some place far. Besides, what mattered most was spending time with the husband ;)

After lunch we had venezuela milk chocolate at Max Brenner's and may I just say that I've fallen in love? It was soo delicious, worth every cent! We were supposed to watch a movie but nothing nice was showing so we went around the mall to shop. I bought the husband a pair of jeans and a shirt to complement it. Seeing as I had no time to buy a gift, we bought it together instead. Sheesh! We both are crap when it comes to preparing surprises lol!

I just can't believe we've been together for 10 years. How time flies! It seems like yesterday when we met over a friends house. Well, it was more of like my ex boyfriends house lol!

The husband was actually part of a group of friends. No, not my ex boyfriend's group but his elder brothers'. His elder brother asked for help on a project one time and his whole 'barkada' was there. That was the day I met the husband. Nah, it wasn't love at first sight. I actually found him very arrogant at that time so I kept my distance. I got along well with their barkada that day. One of them was even trying to get my attention (modesty aside lol!) much to my chagrin.

My ex boyfriend's brother offered to walk me to the the jeepney station and C and the husband tagged along. For some reason, I noticed him that time and even told C he looked like some reporter. We laughed it off. The husband tried to make a good impression but he instead closed the door of the van on my feet. Sheesh! Way to go!

I promised my ex bf's brother that I would call as soon as I get home, which I did. A guy answered and was trying to make me guess who he was. Out of the blue, I said the husband's name. lol!

Months passed and me and the ex bf broke up but his brother and I became great friends so we would still talk over the phone. One time for some reason I couldn't understand, I asked him about the husband and wether he was from chinese descent. I was actullay surprised he popped into my mind.

We met again at ex bf's brother's birthday. He was there but I didn't really notice him. I was chatting with someone else. All of a sudden he walked towards where we were and asked if he could get some cake. I made some lame joke and he flashed that killer smile and walked away. I was like "what just happened there?" and shrugged it off. A few days later, he called. I even mistook him for some old guy lol!

Let's just say the rest is history. ;) It has been a wonderful 10 years together!

Just Some Work Stuff

It's been a while and I've got really nothing exciting to post about. My life has been all about work lately.

I am finally adjusting to the new site and I must say the people there are really nice. Tasks are a mountain high as usual but I get by. We had one big issue a while ago though that got me anxious again but everything turned out okay. I guess I just need to work on a couple of skills some more.

One thing that's getting me by is the full support of the husband. His patience and understanding about my work and what I do is pretty amazing! I am very thankful I have him beside me. I am putting much effort on spending more time with him so weekends for me are very very sacred. I just pray that I get to learn how to manage my time better.

This weekend is exciting to say the least. Our 10th anniversary is coming up. We have no big plans. Dinner or lunch date outside I guess. I know, I know it's pretty boring but hey, we're on a budget here people! ;) Well, we're trying to save up for a car actually so wish us luck on that too! So that's about me for now. I promise to tell you all about the weekend as soon as I get the chance. Toodles! :)

The Heart of Marriage

You'd think being together for almost 10 years (with 2 years being married) we would never need to attend seminars, but no. Marriage is a totally different thing.

Last Saturday, the husband and me, with 2 of our best buds attended "The Heart of Marriage" seminar at Victory Christian Fellowship at the Every Nation Building in Fort Bonifacio. It was a seminar we will value and cherish for the rest of our lives.

The first part was defining marriage as seen in God's eyes. As Pastor Joey and his wife Marie said, marriage is a covenant - a sacred agreement. It is also during this part where roles were discussed and while the husband learned that he needs to be more aggresive in our marriage, I learned that I need to be more supportive. Something that he has opened up to me before but I was too proud to admit.

On the second part of the seminar, we discussed about the power of three. No, not the charmed ones lol! It was the power of the 3 gifts, the sign - committment, the sacrifice - love and the good news - God. With these 3 attributes in your marriage, your bond will be stronger. As God is committed to us, we should be committed to our spouse.

The third part talked about guarding our hearts from wrong focus (focusing on career, relatives, etc.), unrealisitic expectations (now that I am guilty of) and unforgiveness. Too often in most marriages we tend to dig into our chests of hurts and pains and throw it back to our partner. We need to forgive and forget no matter how hard it is. We need to clean up the hard drives of our hearts from the trash of unforgiveness.

The last, but not the least part of this awesome seminar, is about living decisively based on 1. The Word of God 2. Service 3. Faithfulness 4. Priorities and 5. being in agreement.

Needless to say we came out of that seminar with a firm resolve to practice what we learned, incorporate it into our marriage. We could not change overnight, but with God in our marriage, it is possible to live a long and happy marriage.

For those married couples out there, this is something you would want to attend. Not because you are having problems in your marriage (heaven forbid that you would wait that long to even attend it), but because you are both committed in making the most out of your married life. After all, marriage is a journey you should both take hand in hand.

For more inquiries and future schedules, you may visit Victory Christian Fellowship.

I suggest you also check out and read Gary Chapman's "The Five Love Languages". Definitely a must read for couples!

Catching Fire!

Oooh! Another movie for me to watch out for! Catching Fire will come to theaters November 22, 2013!  Here's a sneak peek of the releas...
