I Was Attacked

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Bitdefender for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

I was attacked. Maliciously. It was surreal, I thought I was careful enough. I thought I was impenetrable. But alas, I wasn't. I was crushed. My and my family's security has always been important to me and now someone has breached that.

About a week ago, my computer was attacked by a malware so silent but vicious.  I was minding my own thing, visiting my various social networks and then bam! I was attacked. I don't really know from where.  All I know is that I was scared because all my transactions were done online! I felt so unsafe I wanted to cry!

It's a good thing I have a tech support friend who recommended I use the Bitdefender Total Security program! It made my heart beat back to normal. You know why?

Well, let me tell you, why.

Bitdefender

Bit Defender Total Security is the next big thing in Silent Security. It is unparalleled when it comes to security with its live and virtualized behavior-based detection, it is truly a top quality product!  It's a major combination of Antivirus and AntiSpyware defense and it just amazes me!  Some offer these services individually but Bitdefender combines them for greater security!

Here are some of the reasons why Bitdefender is so cool:

1. Bitdefender Safepay.  Eversince I got Bitdefender, I shop online with ease!  Why?  Because Bitdefender automatically opens all my online banking pages in a separate and secure browser!

2. Bitdefender Auto-Pilot allows me to browse the web without those annoying security pop ups! It makes optimal security decisions that enables hassle free surfing!

3. Bitdefender Antitheft gives me security knowing that if ever my laptop gets stolen or lost, I can quickly locate it with any internet based device I have. All I can say is W.O.W!

4. The Social Network Protection feature of Bitdefender takes away my worries of my Twitter or Facebook account getting hacked.  No more fear of someone posting some lewd, embarassing posts on my social networks. Woohoo!

5. But Bitdefender does not only protect you, it protects your family too with it's Parental Control Options! This is great because it watches over my niece and nephew when they go online especially when using social media.  In this day and age of technology, I am glad there is still a company that churns out products with a mind AND heart.

I say this product has a mind because it operates on it's own without those annoying pop ups!  I can work with ease and not get disturbed every now and then. And if my laptop gets lost, Bitdefender can also track my stolen device! How COOL is that, huh?  It is no wonder Bitdefender is ranked top 1 in Antivirus Software and earned the CNET Editor's Choice and PCmag Editor's Choice

So why wait? Go and buy at http://www.bitdefender.com TODAY!

The Breaking Dawn Part II - Teaser Trailer

I am sure everyone has seen the teasers for The Breaking Dawn Part II.  If you haven't, well, you've got to point your browsers to YouTube right now and get in on the fun.

What I loved about the trailer is seeing glimpses of Bella as a Vampire.  She runs like the wind and her bright red eyes just surprises me.  I also love how Edward says : "We're the same temperature now."  But the best part of all is the mystery of how Renesmee looks like.  I know we've seen photos of Mackenzie Foy but it's going to be different seeing her acting as the Hybrid Vampire - the child that grown too fast.

It's sad that this is the last of the Twilight Saga but to tell you honestly, I've moved on from my Twilight Saga craze of long ago. Has it been really that long?  I think it was just 2 or 3 years but it feels so distant.  I guess that's what happens when you have new vampire boys to squeal to.  And yes, I am talking about Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder) of Mystic Falls (The Vampire Diaries), his brother, well...err.. eh...not so much.  Hahaha!  But that's another story for another post.

The Hunger Games Movie

I apologize for my absence.  Things have been crazy with the new business which I am particularly happy about.  As soon as things are in place, I will let you in on what it is.

So, how did you find the Hunger Games movie? If you'll ask me, I'll tell you how much I LOVED IT! There were a few changes on the details like how Katniss got the Mockingjay pin or the thing about buttercup's color, but they are just minor.  I think, overall, the movie stuck to the book as much as it can and the main story was given justice!

The cast was perfect and were really able to execute their roles perfectly.  Of course, Josh Hutcherson as Peeta was perfect!

What do you think?  Did you love the movie as I did or did you think it could be better? Share your thoughts!

Oooh! I can't wait for Catching Fire! I read it's going to be released November 2013.

My Top Online Organization Tool

I admit that one of my addictions right now is organization.  I've been crazy staying on the world wide web reading up on articles about organization.  The only thing I hate about it is writing down each and every website address and describing the photos I saw in detail or saving the photos on my hard drive (which takes up too much space).

That was a dilemma, until I found clipix.  My, oh my! clipix has saved me a million hassles and added to my organization junkie moments! I love it!  Now I don't need to write down web addresses (keeps my carpal tunnel in check!) I only need to clip it on clipix so I can go back to it anytime!

Clipping it is so easy.  You only need to click on the :clip it" button on your bookmark tab and you instantly organize your web browsing. Saves time and effort too!  I really recommend you try clipix out! Have a look at what I have on my board so far:

An Amazing Healthcare Deal!

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Walgreens. All opinions are 100% mine.

One of the things I appreciated the most when I was still working in a corporate setting were the medical benefits that came with the job.  It has helped me and the husbo in our hospital bills and not to mention our prescription medicines.  This was one of the reasons why it took me so long to turn in that resignation letter - the cost of healthcare that  has increased and is increasing tremendously over the years.

But I was blessed to have found a diamond in the rough: Walgreens Prescription Savings Club.  Wallgreens is offering a special discount on their annual membership for their Prescription Savings Club!  Imagine my relief when I heard about this amazing news!  Thanks to a former colleague who recommended I look up Walgreens on Twitter! Go ahead and follow them to get really cool updates!

What's so great about this is the savings you get.  By joining this club, your $35 can already get you a family membership that covers everyone in your immediate family.  This includes your spouse, dependents 22 and younger!  But that's not all, your pets are also included! You heard me right - PETS! How amazing is that?  If you're single, you need not fear, you only pay $20 for this incredible offer! Wow! They do think of everything, don't they?

But it doesn't end with coverage.  With the Walgreens Prescription Savings Club, you also get savings on more than 8,000 brand-name and all generic merchandise, discounts on flu shots, pet prescriptions , nebulizers and diabetic supplies.  As if these were not enough, you also get bonuses when you purchase their brand products and photofinishing services!

Holy moly! Walgreens, you are an aswered prayer to me and my family!

So go ahead and check out this amazing deal!  If you want to know more or want to stay updated with Walgreens news, visit Walgreens on Facebook!

Tips on Making Money Online

One of the goals I have for 2012 is to earn more.    Since I left my day job and can no longer expect a monthly salary, I need to ensure I have enough to help the husbo pay for our expenses and savings.

So how do I make money online?  There are several ways but today, I would like to share with you my top 1 : making money through my blogs via paid reviews and paid posts.

How do you make money with paid reviews or paid posts?

Movies I'll Watch Out for this 2012

Do you love movies?  If so, then maybe you already have a list of movies you'll watch this year. I've several of them in mind and I've listed them down.
This year, I am curious to see how Kirsten Stewart does justice to her role in Snow White veering away from her sweet teen role as Bella in Twilight.  And oh, Twilight - exciting and sad at the same time to know this is the last.  I hope it's as bittersweet as the last Harry Potter movie.

Anyway, here's my list. Synopses were taken from Movie Insider or imdb:

JANUARY 2012

UNDERWORLD Awakening
In theaters January 20, 2012
Kate Beckinsale, star of the first two films, returns in her lead role as the vampire warrioress Selene, who escapes imprisonment to find herself in a world where humans have discovered the existence of both Vampire and Lycan clans, and are conducting an all-out war to eradicate both immortal species.

FOCUSING ON TASKS ON HAND

Overwhelmed.  That's how 2012 began for me. I've all these ideas and resolutions crowding inside my head that I tend to just freeze and sit dazed and confused where to start.  So here I am, 2 weeks into the year and while I see other people determined as to what their year will be like, I am just realizing what I want for 2012.  I am slow that way.

So yeah, I've decided 2012 will be the year I learn about FOCUSING ON TASKS ON HAND.  You see, I am what you may call a web butterfly (okay, I invented that term haha!).  I fly from one website to another, surfing and surfing and never get anything done.  I'd have one inspiration from a site and then think of another task to do until it piles up with me not doing anything. I am so bad, I know. But this year, that is going to change.  I've tried a few simple steps this week and I'm happy with the results so far.

If there's anything I've learned so far it's to do ONE TASK AT A TIME. So here goes the tips:

1. Plan activities ahead of time.  Setting up a schedule for your activities can help in maintaining your focus.  I find it helps if I plan at least a week ahead.  It helps in giving me an overview of how my day will go. Make sure you leave out a few hours of free time for any surprise visits, calls or other emergency tasks.

2. Now that you have your week planned, STICK TO THE SCHEDULE. This may be hard at first but with consistency, you will find it has become a habit.

3. Eliminate Distraction. There are just too many distractions in this world.  Social media, the internet and TV Shows to name a few.  You have to have that self discipline to turn them off while you're doing a task.  If you're really an internet and TV junkie like me, you can set some internet or TV time after your tasks to reward yourself.

4. Tune Out not only the outside noise but also the inner noises.  Those pesky things that remind you of deadlines and other things you need to do. TUNE THEM OUT.  You have to be present in what you are doing.  Pay attention to your task and you'll be done with it sooner than you think.

5. Take a Break.  If the tasks requires long hours, then you need to take a break but be disciplined about it.  Do not go around starting another task while you're on break.  You can relax your eyes, grab a cup of coffee or maybe stretch your arms and feet with walking a few steps. Never do something that will lead to another task.

I hope these simple tips can help you as much as it has helped me. Getting to a place of FOCUS and DISCIPLIINE can help you feel less overwhelmed and frustrated.  You will be happier and will achieve more in life.

Stand Up for Your Family!

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of American Family Insurance for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

When we talk about family, we talk about bonding, of love and togetherness. Rarely do we talk about the bad things we go through, the petty fights and quarrels between family members or the small, everyday booboo's we have.

Well, we may be mum about the not-so-good stuff, but the guys at American Family Insurance have found a different but cool way to look at the booboos of family life.  Check out their awesome Stand Up For Family videos!  I've been laughing hard for the last hour just watching Tony Roberts!  He's hilarious!

Okay, I am done wiping those tears from my eyes - got them from laughing too hard! Go ahead and take a peek,! Don't worry, your kids can watch too because the great thing about their videos is that they can be enjoyed by the entire family!

I love that these AmFam videos made me look at family in a new way.  One lesson I learned from watching these videos is that no matter how many quarrels I have with my family, how many booboos we encounter, they will always be there to love and care for me.  I also learned that the mistakes we make in our family binds us closer.  It's not all about the happy moments, the sad ones count too!  Ohana!

The UBEquitous Mr. UBE

Since we're into colors, let's do an "Ube" Post, shall we? :)

Eng Bee Tin lovers in Quezon City, you may rejoice as your favorite "ube-colored" store is now in the vicinity.  Today, the husbo and I discovered Mr. Ube Noodle House on E. Rodriguez Avenue.

After going through the most stressful, blood-boiling experience, no thanks to Maxicare's staff at St. Lukes, the husbo and I needed some yumminess to soothe our angry nerves.  And since the husbo was also sick with cough and colds, what better way to calm us than chinese food, right?  And right smack across St. Luke's hospital, we found Mr. Ube Noodle House.  That familiar sight made me sigh with relief and hold my breath in anticipation.

The store isn't that big.  A display rack of Eng Bee Tin products to the right and a view of the kitchen to the left gave us a warm welcome complete with a cute chinese voice greeting us "Ni Hao!".  The products silently beckoned and as soon as I had my arms filled with those delectable flavored hopias, I proceeded to pay at the cashier found at the middle part of the L-shaped noodle house.

Should you decide to eat here, note that Mr. Ube Noodle house uses the fast-food process of pay-as-you-order at the cashier.  After paying, they will give you a number and someone will serve the food to you.  I got my favorite Beef Noodles while the husbo got the Sate Beef Noodles. They were priced at P100 each.  Affordable -- or so I thought.  I first assumed it was inexpensive because the serving bowl was huge which gave the effect that there's a lot in there, but alas, the soup was the only thing aplenty.  The noodles were "bitin" for me.  The husbo said the same thing.  But the taste wasn't bad, I'd say it's at par with most of the authentic chinese restos in the metro.

The husbo with his huge bowl of Sate Beef Noodles.  Perfect for his colds. :)
We also ordered pork and shrimp siomai (sorry I forgot to take note of the price, but it's less than a hundred pesos) which like the noodles tasted the same as that of the other chinese place.  Nothing to rave about. For drinks, the husbo got red iced tea while I got the black gulaman.  Both drinks were at Php 65 each.

The staff were pleasant and courteous enough and got our orders right so we were happy.  I'd say we'd still go back there if we suddenly crave for some flavored hopia that Eng Bee Tin is famous for but not for the food.  We could get that somewhere else.

A piece of advice, don't go there during weekday-lunch time. The place, small as it is, is packed with students from the nearby colleges and people from St. Lukes. Weekends will be a better time to visit.

P.S. For those who want to know, "Ube" is purple yam

Happy Yellow Lemon and Blue Eagle Bonfire

One Saturday, three pretty ladies went out on a happy date - a Happy Lemon date that is.  Tita Bhie, Dia and I were having breakfast one morning and we spontaneously decided to go and hang out before Ateneo's 4-peat Bonfire in the evening.  And hang out we did at the Eastwood Mall.  Happy Lemon's Cocoa with Rock Salt and Cheese (which is an absolute favorite!) kept us company as we laughed and talked the afternoon away.We wanted to have a look around the mall so we begrudgingly stood up and walked around (while still talking ha!).

Goofing around in the ladies room. LOL!
Since we wanted to beat the rush of Ateneans attending the bonfire, we decided to head on to Ateneo.  It's a good thing we did because Katipunan Avenue traffic was horrendous!  We didn't notice the long line of cars though because we were talking (again!) and laughing inside the cab.  Manong driver must have thought we were crazy ladies!

After a quick dinner at McDonald's (where else?! The place to be! haha!), we proceeded to the Ateneo school grounds for the bonfire. The place was PACKED so we settled on standing a bit by the side.  We had a pretty good view of the wide LCD screen -- until the rain poured!  You'd think you'd see people scamper and try to find a shelter from the rain but NOOOO! The Atenean school spirit cannot be dampened by the rain! Umbrellas (including ours) went up everywhere!

The coach thanking his team and teaching them how to dougie!
I am no Atenean (Dia is!) but the bonfire was a such a FUN experience! It's been ages since I've been to a UAAP event (don't you dare start guessing my age! LOL!) and I am reminded of how the beat of the drums can make your heart swell with pride for your school. Congratulations again Ateneo Blue Eagles! One Big Fight!

GET RICH! KNOW HOW TO DECREASE YOUR LIABILITIES AND LOWER EXPENSES.

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Straight Talk. All opinions are 100% mine.

The past few days, I have been busy re-reading Robert Kiyosaki's Rich Dad, Poor Dad book.  I am amazed at how, even after reading the book a few years back, I still haven't learned the basics of being financially free.  If you've read the book, it's all about getting assets and limiting liabilities.

The book got me very conscious about my spending and the bills I pay for our family's necessities.  I've been reviewing our monthly expenses and trying to look at where we can save more.  One of the things I found out was I can reduce our mobile phone bills in half! Yes, HALF!

If you review your mobile phone bills carefully, it's a surprise how we could agree to some of the telecommunication network's lies.  We believe them, Hook, line and sinker !
Have you even tried to ask yourself if there's a better alternative?  If you did find something, wouldn't it make you feel extra rich with the savings you get? I mean what would you do with the extra money? Maybe you can buy that really beautiful shoes you've been wanting, or take the vacation you've always needed.  Imagine a company that promises to give you when it comes to your Everything you need with your mobile phone plans.

Imagine the perks you can get:
  1. 1,000 minutes, 1,000 texts and 30 MB of web data.
  2. Unlimited Monthly service that includes calls, text, picture messaging, and web.
  3. A plan where 411 calls are included at no extra charge.
  4. Best of all, a plan free from activation, reactivation, or termination fees
So go ahead, Call a friend, but do it when you've gotten that wonderful amazing plan from StraightTalk!  If I have not convinced you yet, maybe the video below can help point you in the right direction.

Get a headstart in ensuring your financial security! Know how you can lower your liabilities / expenses.  Make your mobile phone an asset that works to give you extra income rather than taking more of your hard earned money.

Catching Fire!

Oooh! Another movie for me to watch out for! Catching Fire will come to theaters November 22, 2013!  Here's a sneak peek of the releas...
