Medical Equipments

My lab test went fine. My sugar levels were above but pretty close to the normal range. Whew! My doctor suggested I buy my own test kit so I can monitor my sugar levels and I really think it's a great idea. I searched the www for medical equipment websites and the search led me to AllegroMedical.com. They are the largest and most technologically advanced online site for home health care supplies since 1996. They offer over 55,000 products under 50 categories and vast choices of subcategories. From Diabetes Test Strips to Crutches, they have it under their site. They even have a free e-Catalog offering specials and discounts to anyone who signs up. Cool, huh?

New Header

How do you like the new color scheme and header of my blog? :) I woke up during the night and couldn't go back to sleep so I decided to redo my blog design. Well, I just did a couple of tweaks here and there. I just felt that everything was too bland - too white. I am off to redo the other blogs I have but I've got to finish arranging my sidebar. I feel like it's so disorganized and I have no idea how to redo it. Any suggestions?

Halo-halo

It's 3AM and I am still awake. I've been waiting for some opportunities but none are available at the moment. That's okay, I've reached my quota for the day anyway. Also, I've already started to receive some payments on my PayPal Philippines account and it's now working yey! I just have to work on my Unionbank EON and I am all set.

Our Tita Bhie is here as well and we're having some fun. She's such a cool person, a cool mom! We had coffee til about 12AM and then watched some DVDs in our room after. We got hungry though so we ordered some burgers from McDonalds. And may I just say I am a tad disappointed at their service today? First they forgot the fries that were included on the 3 cheeseburger meals we ordered and they short changed me when I specifically asked change for 500 pesos when I called. So I decided to call again and reminded them to send the 3 fries and the change. When another rider arrived with the fries, he still did not have the 9 bucks of change they owe me. I know it's not much but hey, they should give what is due. The rider said we can just remind them of the 9 pesos when we order again. WTF? I will call them tomorrow to give them a piece of my mind, in a tactful and peacful manner, of course.

Sigh! Still no opps yet. I guess I'll do some bloghopping. I am not sleepy yet.

Online Degrees

My Aunt and her son are now contemplating on where my cousin is to go to college. As you know, going to college is pretty expensive in the US. They've been saving for it since my cousin was born. Being Filipino by blood, my cousin wouldn't want to leave their home just yet. So he's considering getting an online degree. I think that's a great idea though. I suggested they try capella university.

Capella University offers online degree programs in the various fields like business, education, human resources and lot more! They have a wide range of graduate and undergraduate specialization since October 23 of 2007. They are also a fully online university and is committed to providing academic excellence.

Down and Red

I've been asleep practically the whole day. The red flag is up and I was down with a painful abdomen the whole day. Darn! I haven't done any of my assignments and they're about to expire soon. It was a good thing though that I am on leave today. So how's your Friday so far?

Band for your Tummy

Well, I am not talking about some music band, nor am I talking about rubber bands, well not the type you see in office supplies stores anyway. Did you know there's a new way of losing weight these days? Gone are the days of liposuction, today, Laparoscopic Adjustable Gastric Banding or LAGB is the way to go. I read about a houston lapband surgery done by capable surgeons at Journey Lite, a fast growing network of specialized surgical facilities and highly experienced surgeons. This procedure places a band around the upper portion of your stomach, making you feel full and satisfied, causing you to eat less and lose those unwanted weight. It's pretty safe too as the procedure is completely reversible. Sounds like a good idea don't you think?

Inconsistency

I am done with my date with Shaun T on DVD. Whew! It was a great 10 minute workout. After that I decided to rearrange some furniture and get rid of the clutter in our room. I wonder how long this spic and span room will last before hurricane Nyree and cyclone Jasper hits! lol! Haay! We're just so inconsistent when it comes to keeping our room in order. Jasper, is a guy, enough said. Makalat talaga! Add me pa in the picture and you get one big mess of a room! I wanted to take a picture kaso the S3 is still with my sister. Besides, nahiya naman ako ng konti lol! Well, I'm sure the room will be a mess in a couple of days or so, I'll try to take a snapshot of it hehehe!

Project: Lose Excess Weight

Home at last. And the good news is my leave was approved. Thanks Angelo! You're an angel. I'd be ableto get some rest before doing those lab tests. Anyway, I'm just resting a bit because in a couple of minutes, it's Hip Hop Abs time. I am tired but I need to do this regularly if I really want to lose this excess weight. Things are looking pretty good though. I've been very consistent in keeping myself away from junk food and fast food and soda. No soda for a week yey! For a soda addict like me, that is an achievement already. It was hard though. My body has also adjusted to the lessened rice intake. And when the next paycheck comes, I'll buy myself a weighing scale. Wish me luck guys! :) Now off I go with my date with Shaun T. See you all later!

Executive Searches

I remember when I was jobless 2 years ago. It was about 3 months after our wedding and I wanted to earn on my own again so I decided to search for a job. It wasn't easy. Good thing there are recruitment firms like A.E Feldman and associates. They are an executive search firm that is committed to help you in your search. They have a vast record of successful placements over the years and has built a strong relationship with industry leading companies. Their areas of expertise include the financial and risk management industries, legal and legal support services and a host of other top fields.

Significant Other's Tag

I was tagged by Mai. Thanks a bunch Mai!

1. His Name. Stephen Jasper. He is fondly called Ping-ping by his family and closest friend. The nick came from the Ilocano word Ping which means cheeks. He has really chubby cheeks and a high cheekbone. To his colleagues though, he is known as Jas.

2. How we met? He was a friend of my ex boyfriend's elder brothe. Confusing? lol! Well, we met at my ex boyfriend's house actually.

3. Characteristic of Jasper. I could list a hundred but the most loved characteristics he has are his patience and loyalty to his family and friends.

4. Our 20-30 year plan. Have our own house and God willing, our own child.

Tired

I've been blogging since I got home at 5AM. I had a ton of assignments I had to finish. I am not complaining though. Excited even. But I think I need to rest. I feel like my brain is going to burst and my eyes are pretty exhausted. I've been in front of the computer for more than 12 hours already. I'll be back later. :)

Have you ever encountered Mailing Lists? If you have an online business then, you probably have. Martin Worldwide, one of the largest mailing list providers has a new product called ResponseCom. It is a result of blending US Response and US Consumer Database which offers over 100 a powerful database suited for your needs. You could never go wrong with them as they have over a decade of experience and knowledge and they offer a variety of cost-effective services to ensure your business success. Adoption

I remember during lunch a while ago. My colleague and I were talking about adoption and how the process is different here in our country. Both being addicts of the hit TV show FRIENDS, we also remembered that time when Chandler and Monica were going through the process of adoption. And I got to thinking, what is my destiny is to adopt a little child to take care of? I mean I would want one of my own, but with the hundreds of babies being aborted or just thrown, my heart just goes out to them. This is something to keep in mind and maybe talk to the husband about.

Author Review: Max Lucado

Disclaimer: I am not a professional. So please forgive me if you see flaws in my review. I just write from the heart :)

I love reading and I miss it terribly. Most of all, I miss reading Max Lucado's books. He is one of my favorite authors. I love how he weaves a story and I love how he always takes the ordinary, random, everyday life experience and see it through God's eyes. Everytime I read one of his books, I never fail to shed a tear in every single page. I haven't been able to buy one of his books in ages, blame it on the piling bills lol! But I do receive snippets and excerpts from his book in my email. So let me share with you the most recent one. I pray you'd be blessed and encouraged. This is a chapter from his book: In the Eye of the Storm.

The Journey by Max Lucado

I drove the family to Grandma’s last night for Thanksgiving. Three hours into the six-hour trip, I realized that I was in a theology lab.

A day with a car full of kids will teach you a lot about God. Transporting a family from one city to another is closely akin to God transporting us from our home to his.

A journey is a journey, whether the destination be the Thanksgiving table or the heavenly one. Both demand patience, a good sense of direction, and a driver who knows that the feast at the end of the trip is worth the hassles in the midst of the trip.

For me, six hours on the road is a small price to pay for my mom’s strawberry cake. I don’t mind the drive because I know the reward. I have three decades of Thanksgivings under my belt, literally. As I drive, I can taste the turkey. Hear the dinner-table laughter. Smell the smoke from the fireplace.

I can endure the journey because I know the destiny.

For some of you, the journey has been long. Very long and stormy. In no way do I wish to minimize the difficulties that you have had to face along the way. Some of you have shouldered burdens that few of us could ever carry. You have bid farewell to life-long partners. You have been robbed of life-long dreams. You have been given bodies that can’t sustain your spirit. You have spouses who can’t tolerate your faith. You have bills that outnumber the paychecks and challenges that outweigh the strength.

And you are tired.

Let me encourage you with a parallel between your life’s journey and the one our family took last night.

It’s worth it.

As I write, the Thanksgiving meal is over. My legs are propped up on the hearth. My tablet is on my lap.

I have every intention of dozing off as soon as I finish this chapter.

The turkey has been attacked. The giblet gravy has been gobbled. The table is clear. The kids are napping. And the family is content.

As we sat around the table today, no one spoke of the long trip to get here. No one mentioned the requests I didn’t honor. No one grumbled about my foot being on the accelerator when their hearts were focused on the banana splits. No one complained about the late hour of arrival.

Yesterday’s challenges were lost in today’s joy.

God never said that the journey would be easy, but he did say that the arrival would be worthwhile.

Remember this: God may not do what you want, but he will do what is right … and best. He’s the Father of forward motion. Trust him. He will get you home. And the trials of the trip will be lost in the joys of the feast.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’ll close my eyes. I’m a bit tired from the journey, and it feels good to rest.

Rare Collections

I remember way back in my younger years, I used to collect stationaries. I also remember I am not that a good collector as I lost most of them. But would you believe there are people who collect rare coins? Yes siree! There's even a company that helps them with their investments, sort of like a coin dealer - Monaco Rare Coin. This company is a trusted leader in the field of precious metals. They offer a vast and impressive resource for collectors and investors too! With their expertise, I am sure investors would be more than able to help these investors in finding the most rare value in the market today.

Let's All Interact - Leave Me A Comment

Hi All! I'd really want to get more interactive with the few people who visit my blog. :) And since blogger does not have an email form when you leave comment, kindly leave your email address on the comment body so I can email you back. If you could also leave your (blog/website)links, that would be super great! I'd love to visit your blogs and get to know you more. If your links are not on my page yet, let me know if you want to be added okay? Thanks a bunch you guys!

Giant Catfish

I have always seen catfish in the market and my family has cooked some for an occasion or two. I was shocked though when I saw this:

Oh my gosh right? It's a 646 pound catfish caught by 2 Thai fishermen in the Mekong River in Thailand. I am just so amazed to see these types of species live! They say that there are 6 propsed dams to be built in this river. I don't know if it will do more good than harm. About 75,000 villagers will be displaced and species like this endangered giant catfish will lose their homes too. Sad

New Zealand

I was watching the lifestyle network the other day and one of the destinations was New Zealand. When I saw the different places they went to, I was like WOW! One particular place was Christchurch, oh man! I wish I was on one of the flights to Christchurch at that moment! The beautiful Cathedral Square designed in gothic revival style is the main attraction in this lovely place. Oh, what I would give to spend my vacation on one of the New Zealand Holidaysand enjoy their rich and colorful culture! Oh, wait a minute, my friend is going to New Zealand to work there this January, maybe I should go with her. Hmm. Let me check out great deals on New Zealand flightsfirst.

Get To Know a bit More About Me

Get to know a little more about me with this quiz from blog things. It's really fun doing this stuff as sometimes it's pretty true. Can you say head-on! Just while doing it, I had the husband do it too and he was laughing like crazy at some of the quizzes. We're a pretty wierd couple, huh? Okay, so here we go:

You Have a Phlegmatic Temperament
Mild mannered and laid back, you take life at a slow pace. You are very consistent - both in emotions and actions. You tend to absorb set backs easily. You are cool and collected. It is difficult to offend you. You can remain composed and unemotional. You are a great friend and lover. You don't demand much of others. While you are quiet, you have a subtle wit that your friends know well. At your worst, you are lazy and unwilling to work at anything. You often get stuck in a rut, without aspirations or dreams. You can get too dependent on others, setting yourself up for abandonment.

Back to 0

Google is just so funny I can't even trust their results anymore. I mean, if their computation is all ok and good, why is there a need for the rank to fluctuate? Like for this blog for example, when they did the first update, they had this blog ranked at PR 1 and now it's back to 0. Not even knowing how they compute this makes it even more dubious. Oh well.

Credit Card for Business

I remember when my grandfather died and my parents had to take over his small business. They really had a hard time with the adjustment period but thank God they made it through. Now that the business is somewhat thriving, they are planning to acquire a Credit Card For Business. My parents not being adept in the internet, they asked me to help them search for one. Guess where I searched? CreditCardSearchEngine.com is where! It's the longest running website for online credit card inquiries. What is does is help you search and compare all types of credit card offers and help you decide which one is best for you and your business needs. They have leading brands on their roster so it's pretty easy doing the comparisons. Now I'd have all the information I need to show my parents.

Weekend Itinerary

How is your weekend coming along? Mine's not really exciting lol! The husband and I just went to Gilmore today to buy additional memory for the other laptop. It's been really running slow for a couple of months now. And when I say slow, I mean s.l.o.w! Good thing we were still able to find one. We're back home now and both of us are trying to rest. Well, he's watching a movie and I on the other hand have a couple of assignments lined up so I'll be joining him soon :) Tomorrow, the husband and I along with my family will be going to the tiangge again. So that pretty much sums up my weekend itinerary, how about yours? :)

For the Love of Animals

I just have to post this.

My 3 year old Godson is watching the cartoon "Spirit, Stallion of the Cimarron" for the second time in his whole 3 years. The first time was about a couple of months ago. We were watching it on my laptop. He was so happy seeing a lot of horses at the start of the movie. Then came this scene where the Indian family the horses were staying with was attacked and to save their beloved master, they jumped in between the gun shot (the bullet missed) and the horses were thrown towards the water and was carried off towards the waterfalls. Well of course they fell but didn't die naman. I felt him jump when the shot was fired but he was so into the movie that I never realized what he was into until he turned his face towards me. Lo and behold! Bucket of tears were falling from his face and his shoulders were heaving up and down from crying. Pretty soon, he was into a crying fit that lasted for about 15 minutes! I felt bad. Feeling ko the kid was traumatized by the scene. He couldn't forget about it for the rest of the day. But it turned out he just had a heart for animals.

Months passed and I thought he had all forgotten about it until he requested to watch the movie again today. So here he is beside me now in tears again but trying so very hard to hide it. hahaha! Binata na, he's trying to deny that he is crying. I was asking him what's wrong the first time I heard him sniffle, he said, "wala ninang, tulo lang laway" (Nothing. My saliva just dripped). At the same scene where he bawled his eyes out the first time, I knew he was crying again as he was sniffling like crazy, I asked him again what's wrong, he wouldn't look at me and just said, "Wala Ninang, sisipon lang ako" (Nothing, I just have colds). Hahahaha! Sorry, I just can't help but be aliw with this kid. He's starting to become embarrassed na from crying.

Nakakatuwa lang talaga sya. He has such a big heart for animals talaga! Kahit daga (rat), when he sees it trapped, he cries like hell kasi "wawa" (pitiful) daw. If it's true that kids usually get the traits of their Godparents, then he must have gotten that from me. I really cry even for those little kittens left out on the street, but not naman for rats hahaha!

Online Casino

I remember during our team building last month, we were supposed to drop by and play in a casino. But we were too tired and the dress code discouraged us all the more. Hahaha just when I thought I was ready to try it out. I guess, I wasn't made to play, or so I thought.

I recently found out about the online casino and checking it out, I found it could be something I could try. It's a pretty good thing there's Pro360 online that could really help me review online casino that are legit and those that are not.

Well, I haven't really played yet, but I will make sure to update you when I do.

Pressure

I've been awake since 3am trying to do online assignments. No complaints here. It's just that I am now wracking my brains on what to post. Seriously, I have a lot of stories to tell, but they seem to be jumbled up inside my head. Add to the fact that I have to finish this soon because I still need to sleep for my shift tonight. Talk about pressure, eh? Anyhoo, I am down to my last for the day. I have exceeded my daily quota so time for some a bit of R and R before facing the pile of work later on. Hah! To that I say, bring it on!

A Vacation of Divine Favor

Imagine a place of pristine white sand and deep blue waters. Of luxurious accomodations with your very own beach beds with retractable curtains. Beachside bar swings with your very own Beach butlers to cater to your every need. Ah! That is the sweet life isn't it? How about a Gourmet-inclusive designed for food lovers where you will enjoy scrumptous food right at the beach. And cuba diving on the world's second largest reef? Excited? Well, that's not just a dream, there is truly a place like that and that's what Karisma Resort offers. A relaxing vacation fitting divine favor. A luxurious stay at the Riviera Maya. If adventure, luxury and relaxation is what you need, then go! You will not regret it.

Longing

I just found out that JLo finally confirmed her pregnancy. A couple of friends are now pregnant and some co workers too. Can you say torture? Well, I know some of you may not understand how this feels but really, it kills you like crazy. The longing to have your own child, the madness of feeling like everyone around you are pregnant, the hoping and monthly frustrations. It's enought to drive one mad. I know, I know, in God's own time and I am all for that, but I can't really deny how I am feeling right?
But you know, inspite of the longing, sometimes, there is this tiny fear in me. Am I really ready to put my heart out on a sleeve, having to worry all the time, am I really capable of rearing a human being? I know I sound wierd and crazy, but these are the barrage of questions and thoughts I've been having.
One thing is for sure though, the longing is still there.

Are We Ready to Buy Our Own House?

In line with our plan to move out, and the big news we received last Saturday, I decided to take a quiz if we are ready to buy our own home. Well, I wouldn't be basing the decision on this, I just thought it fun to find out. Also, the quiz doesn't really cater to our country so the results may be a bit off but hey, it's just an online quiz right? No harm done :)

You Are Possibly Ready to Buy a Home
You may be ready to buy a home, but you probably need to do more research. Are you really ready to settle down in one place and make a huge financial commitment? You probably need more time to decide if buying a home is for you. Crunch the numbers and look at a few open houses. You'll figure out whether buying a home is something you want right now.

Another Wedding in the Family

My cousin is getting married next year and I am worked up with excitement! It made me reminisce about planning our wedding 3 years ago. I am often in contact with this cousin of mine, helping her out with whatever she needs. Of course I don't impose since I know it's going to be her shining day. I just merely suggest. And one thing I suggested to her, during the start of her Wedding Planning is that she go to weddingchannel.com.

This site is so comprehensive that visiting their site gave me a hundred and one ideas to do for our wedding. If our simple wedding was a testament of how this site has helped a lot of people, then, I strongly suggested to my cousing that she and her fiance go visit. Well, I haven't heard from her, the last time I tried to chat with her she said she was busy with browing that wonderful site.

What's Up?

I am on a roll! I was out last weekend spending time with my parents that I wasn't able to take on assignments for my paid blogging sideline. So now, I am thankful that I still have tons of assignments to take. It's just that sometimes, I find it really hard to think of things to write, specially since I am more of a homebody - a homebody who would love to travel someday.

I also need to squeeze in taking opps at this time because later, I am off to work. Another Monday so that spells B-U-S-Y for me. Also, missing the husband is affecting my mood. He was on leave from work the whole week last week and is now on his first day at his new job. I miss his presence here beside me. Darn!

November 8, 2007

Reconnected

Can you believe I survived without internet connection for days? Yep, our broadband connection were having issues, disconnecting after a couple of minutes or so until it finally went out. Sigh! Good thing they were able to quickly fix it. But, I did miss out on some of my assignments. Sad but hey, it happens. Nothing much though, still busy from work but something has been bugging me for the past couple of days now and I can't shake it off.

Garage Flooring

Since we planned for the big move, one of the considerations that the husband has is a place with a garage. We are also planning to purchase our own car or van. With the big expense, I wonder if we will be able to afford one but it never hurts to dream and pray for it, right? So anyway, one of the places we looked into was really nice and it has a spacious garage perfect for the model of car we were planning to get. However, the floors needs a lot of work and would really need some garage flooring to make it look nice and presentable. There are really nice and affordable floorings available at CarGuyGarage that are worth looking into and the husband is more than willing to fork over some budget for it. Yey!

Blabbers :)

So how's you're weekend doing everyone? I hope you're all well and doing good!

Mine's going pretty well. I got that much needed rest and had a wonderful time with my family, albeit in the cemetery. We visited my grandmother's grave last Saturday. There weren't that many people around anymore (unlike last Nov 1st) and we all had a great time just talking, telling stories of each other's childhood. We stayed until noon and then went home. Not without buying chicken for lunch. After the hearty lunch at my parent's place, the husband and I went home and slept. lol!

Sunday, my parents, siblings and I went to a flea market along Quezon Avenue. It was wonderful there, lots of things to whet your shopping appetite and your real appetite! lol! There was a variety of clothes, knick knacks and what-nots. Food abound in that place, seafood, barbecued stuff too! Oh and there are plants of all sorts too! My brother who loves to cook bought 4 types of planted herbs for just 100 pesos! Quite a steal!

And here I am telling you my weekend story. :) How about you, how did your weekend go?

November 1, 2007

Distracted

I'm a bit distracted from blogging right now and the reason is a TV series called Ghost Whisperer. I know it's kind of in season being Halloween and all. :) I don't know, it's wierd but instead of getting scared, I cry each and every episode. I cry at the little kid who died and finally had the chance to say goodbye to his parents, or the army veteran who went MIA 3 months before his son is born and finally saw his son 33 years after. It is just heartbreaking and joyful at the same time.

Okay, back to the tube.

Catching Fire!

Oooh! Another movie for me to watch out for! Catching Fire will come to theaters November 22, 2013!  Here's a sneak peek of the releas...
