A Wet Chick

I was drenched last night.

The rain started yesterday early evening and kept up until about 9PM or so. As was normal in our country, flash floods soon crept up around different places making it hard for most of the people going home. Us contact center people had a hard time going to work.

I was supposed to go in to work early. I was used to doing that to avoid traffic and to be able to get a head start on my mountain-pile of tasks. For some reason (a.ka. laziness hehehe) I decided to sleep in a bit more. Karma sure is fast. As soon as I was ready to go out, the torrent of rain fell. Match that with several bolts of lightning and you get yourself a dangerous situation. All you can see on the road were the back lights of the cars. I was lucky enough to snag a cab but even then we had to travel slowly. Good thing the cab driver was nice and patient.

We weren't able to reach my office though as the road near the building was flooded. I knew the cab driver couldn't do anything else so I paid him and decided to walk the not so short distance towards the building. I was soo drenched! I arrived in the office looking like a wet chick. And even with the air conditioning unit turned off, I was shivering from the cold.

It's really funny how the climate here is. When it's summer, it gets really hot and humid. And when it rains, it pours. Sometimes you just don't know what you'd want anymore. lol!

So there. A pretty exciting moment out of my oh so boring everyday life hehehe! I hope I don't catch the sniffles though. Off to bed now. I hope everyone's doing well!

Would You Like a Date with a Celebrity?

I live in a country where everyone is prone to being star struck. I'm not saying it in a bad way as I get starstruck too. But I really find it funny sometimes what people would do just to get a glimpse of their favorite celebrity. I don't think this is confined in our country alone though.

Take in particular this contest where you can win a date with sexy actress Mirelly Taylor, star of Kiss Me Again and Serving Sara. This contest is called "Seduce a Celeb". Contestants would submit videos on seducing a celebrity and their prize would be a date with the superstar. GoFish has made an onine first in introducing this contest because the audience becomes part of the program through voting. The cool thing is that Emmy Award Winning Producer, Scott Sternberg, and Andrew Firestone from “The Bachelor” are part of the show. You can download the Free videos at GoFish.com

Check out this submission:

This is my favorite because I really find this guy hilarious. I mean the whole video felt like he just thought of seducing Mirelly Taylor when he was eating some fruit. And did you see the way he was deliberately flourishing his hands like miming or something? Really funny. Don't even get me started on how he was squeezing those bananas! I don't think he's gonna win but I just find it funny.

I wonder who the next celebrity would be. Not that I'm ever going to submit a video. But if it's gonna be like Brad Pitt or Tom Cruise or some other hunk, who knows? You might watch one of my videos there. Not!!!! LOL!

But seriously, it's worth a visit. It's gonna make your day (wink!)

Memorial Day

I said a prayer today for those who gave their life for their country. I bowed my head in remembrance. I am no American citizen but I guess, I am honoring not only the American soldiers but all the people in the world who fought for the love of their homeland.

Still at 0

Is Google done with their dance?

If so, then this s**ks big time. My blog went down from a PR (Page Rank) 2 to a PR 0. I really have no idea why and it baffles me. Just when I was updating this blog and all. Crap. My other blog, which has almost the same content by the way, is still at a PR 2. I haven't updated that blog in ages. Go figure.

It's just frustrating you know. I've been working really hard to increase my PR score and I get a 0. I mean, I'm not saying I have an excellent blog here. I'd be happy if it stayed at a PR 2, but what's with the 0?!?!?! Rant rant rant! Calling Google, I really do not understand how you check things or rank a page, I don't think anyone does. I've seen blogs with nonsense contents and bad english get a PR of 6. Do you guys just randomly rank pages or what?

Okay rant done.

Our Next Movie Date

I can't wait to watch this:

Growing up with 2 brothers and male cousins, it is no wonder The Transformers is one of my childhood favorites. Autobots, Decepticons, Optimus Prime, Bumblebee. They are all I can remember. I may not know the entire story or remember all the characters but I am excited to see how this movie will turn out. I'm sure the cinemas would be full to the brim. Hmm maybe we should reserve as early as now? 7.4.07 is the date. Nice movie for indepedence day don't you think?

Oh, and have you seen the trailer? Way cool! Watch it here.

Driving by London Bridge - What if your car breaks down?

My cousin will be moving to the UK next year. She and her fiance will be staying there for good. How I wish I could live there sometime in the near future too. Hah! In your dreams, Nyree!

Anyway, we got to talking the other day, my cousin, her fiance and I, and our topic went to motors and cars and stuff. Her fiance recently bought a car there and we were laughing about what if his car breaks down in the middle of London bridge and it fell down? (I think we were almost drunk at this point lol!). My cousin then remembered and raved about this motor insurance her fiance got. They've got this really cool discounts that could really help you save. Imagine a No Claim Discount where you can get as much as 70% discount! And if you don't qualify on that category, they will give you an Introductory Discount of as much as 25%.

My future cousin in law was so raving about the company! I mean, with free emergency helpline, free europe wide cover, free courtesy car, who wouldn't want to grab that deal?

I wonder if they cater in our part of the globe. I doubt, but who knows, right? Maybe by the time hubby and I are able to purchase our own car, they'd be offering that same great deal here in our country.

Oh well, congratulations again to my cousin for her engagement! Your engagement ring totally rocks, by the way! lol! Here's to a lifetime of bliss for you both! And for the love of your friends and relatives, can you not think of holding your wedding in London?! Hahaha! Just kidding cuz, whatever makes you both happy, I'm all for it!

Workaholic Me

I am spending a minimum of 12 hours a day in the office for the past month. This is way out of control. I need to relax a bit and stop thinking about the humongous pile of tasks waiting for me.

Sometimes I ask myself if I am not productive enough. Why would I need to stay that long in there if I don't even take breaks or surf the net like the others do? Am I not prioritizing things right? My husband would be quick to say, "No, you just have a lot on your hands." (Awww. Isn't he sweet?)

I need to tone down this workaholic streak or else I might just plop dead from over fatigue. After all, If I die, the company can easily replace me, right? Stop the morbid thoughts too, Nyree! :P

The Sunday Movie Date

So what happened to our planned date? It went pfffft! Thanks to Ayala's Trinoma Mall.

Hubby was so insistent on seeing the new mall. I told him I read a review from Anton's blog that the mall was not worth visiting at this point. The mall was fairly new with a few shops in it, dusty and hard to find parking, aircon problems. Based on what I read, it was a disappointment. But hubby was still insistent. Hearing that the cinemas were open there already, I obliged.

So we went there, curious about how the mall looked like and deciding which movie to watch, Shrek 3 or Spiderman 3. We arrived with no hassle but we already saw a lot of cars parked already. Since we arrived after lunch time, a lot of people were already walking about. I was busy taking pictures of the mall and hubby was complaining about the aircon. (I hate to say "I told you so.")

Trinoma looked exactly like Glorietta in Makati and Market Market in The Fort. A Maze of a mall. Right now, the floors are still dusty and if you have asthma or allergic rhinitis, I suggest you don't go there just yet. Just like Anton wrote, finding the parking area is like a game of hide and seek. When hubby and I went outside, there was a line of cars where all of the drivers were asking where the parking area was. I just find it disappointing why an Ayala Mall would not put up, at least a temporary signage pointing to where the parking was.

The biggest disappointment (albeit expected) was when we were about to buy movie tickets. A security guard blocked our way (rudely too!) telling us the cinemas were closed due to an aircon problem. Now as much as I want to understand that a new mall would have technical problems, why on earth would you even do a soft opening when you're not even complete with the basic stuff? I even heard one lady coming out of a restroom say there was no running water in the toilets! Que Horror!

I guess I just didn't expect an Ayala Mall to be this - disappointing. Even if you say it was just a soft opening of sorts, they should have at least expected the throng of curious people who would trekk there. After all, it was a big mall in the center of Quezon City and an Ayala Mall at that!

They say first impressions last. And I felt that way yesterday. But I'd like to give them the benefit of the doubt and revisit after 2 to 3 months. I suggest you do the same. By then, I'm sure majority of the shops are open, restos will probably abound and the aircon units would do their thing.

We did watch Shrek 3 and Spiderman 3, but in DVD. We decided to buy some DVD's, turn up the aircon unit in our room, cuddle and munch on popcorn. We had more fun that way. ;-P

Dreming of the Past

I dreamt about the past a while ago. It is still fresh in my memory. Contrary to what I read about forgetting your dreams a minute after you wake up. Wierd but I am always like this. I seldom forget what i dream about.

Last night's dream sort of disoriented me. I dreamt about our old house in Project 6. The dream was so vivid! The house was exactly how it was when we lived there, even the furnitures that have long been sold or thrown away was there. It was like the past and the present merged into one. Hubby was there. I was in my present age. Even my family. It would've been a typical dream, had it not been for that someone from my past.

He was there, with me and hubby. In the living room. The scene changes and hubby and I were talking at the front door, hubby was telling me: "Hon, he wants to talk to you. I think he wants to apologize and tell you he wants you back." I was dumbfounded. True enough, a few seconds after, he peeked in the door and said he was about to leave and asked if he could talk to me for a couple of minutes. Hubby nodded and I obliged.

He indeed apologized for what he did to me way back. He said he was really sorry and that he still loved me and wanted me back. I was about to tell him no, that I am happily married when my mom called me and asked me to give something before that guy left. And that was when I woke up. Jolted awake by hubby's embrace.

Why am I even dreaming about this guy? Someone from a long long time ago. I was not even thinking about him for ages! I know it may not mean anything, the dream just got me a bit suprised when I woke up. Sigh. If we could only decipher what our dreams mean.

Sleeping Beauty

It's 12 midnight and I'm awake. I slept the whole day and I'm feeling refreshed. Nothing beats the weekend.

Hubby and I had a really wonderful talk a while ago when I woke up. I was able to tell him about my frustrations and all. I miss talking with him like that, deep and heartfelt. That's one of the downsides of working in a contact center, working nights and missing out on stuff like these. Sigh.

We're planning on going on a movie date later. Hmm I'm really thinking about what to watch. Do you know any good movie?

Travel Without the Hassles

I'm feeling quite frustrated the past few weeks. I don't know if it's stress from work or stress from home. Lol! I really think I need a break. June is fast approaching and I haven't been to any summer destinations. Pathetic life this is.

Hubby and I got to talking (well, chatting was more like it, with me at the office and him at home lol!, AIM is our best buddy these days) about taking a good vacation. We are planning a really romantic retreat. So, off I go to look for really cool but affordable destinations.

Of course being an online travel associate for a large online travel company before, I naturally went to their site. I was quite surprised to find out that I was having a hard time looking for great deals and destinations. I mean, here they were talking about hassle free travel when I am already encountering hassles just looking for something. I dare not imagine how it is when booking with them – more so while traveling with their services.

So I quickly left the site and continued my search and I came across a site that offers Hotel Discounts. They have great deals too! Plus the site was very user friendly, easy to navigate and understand. I also appreciate the fact that they have this destination guide that allows you to research and plan your trip with ease.

I had a wonderful time browsing through a lot of great hotel deals in my dream destinations such as France, Italy and Germany. Their listings were extensive and informative – literally anything you need to know is there. You can even browse by city! Additional options like car rentals, flights and vacation packages were also within a click of your mouse. Oh and the most interesting part? They have this $100 rebate going on right now. What more can you ask for?

Hubby and I haven’t decided on a final destination and package yet, but It was so much fun planning and all. Once we’ve made up our minds on a destination, we would definitely use HotelReservations.com. Truly, travel planning without the hassle!

Questions Running Through My Head

It's been pretty hectic in the office these days. I've been working a 12 hour shift every day for the past couple of weeks. This is not good.

I don't know. I guess I feel I am enjoying myself more when I am in the office. Am I wierd or what? I guess for some reason, I prefer the office rather than home.

You see, there are like 16 adults living here plus 3 children. Can you say "chaos"? My husband's cousin, along with his family live here. They have 2 kids and 2 helpers with them. Our helper also has her husband living here, plus their child. During weekends, everyone's here and I feel so irritable with the many people you have to adjust to. I honestly feel like a prisoner.

Leave you say? Yeah that was the plan - before. Now, H doesn't want to move out it's making me frustrated. My in-laws keep on telling us not to move out because no one will take care of them. Call me bad, but when will we ever get to start our life as husband and wife?!

You can't say I didn't try because I did - I really did. But I just can't stand it anymore. Call me selfish but I want to start reaching for the dreams that we once had - or was it just mine? Am I being selfish?

Each and everyday thoughts pour into my head. I am sorting out thoughts, running everything in my mind. Am I selfish for wanting to move out? Am I expecting too much of you when I feel jealous about how my friends' husbands would treat them out to dinner, or bring them to some place for a vacation? Am I ungrateful when I say I am tired of being the provider in this relationship?

I really don't know the answers as of yet, but I just wanted to rant. Not because I don't love him anymore. I guess I just wanted to let it all out. I am unsure if I am going to post a detailed story as to why i feel this way. Let's wait and see.

Have You Voted?

It's election day here in our country. Have you voted?

I haven't voted and I don't know if I would. I'm registered in a precinct far from here and I have to go to work in a while. I sometimes think if these reasons are just or I am just plain frustrated I don't want to vote anymore. I never liked politics and I never will. I don't know why.

Oh well, that's just my opinion, not that it matters much heheh.

Green Love

I don’t know if everyone has heard about my favorite site but I just want to say that I love this company.

I read about them when I was blog hopping one day. At first I was hesitant but after reading through the FAQs, I finally jumped in and submitted my blog. I was really excited when my blog, then my first post was approved. Several more approved posts followed and so far I have made close to $200. Not bad for a then PR1 blog. Now, I am getting my own domain and working hard to increase my Google PR Rank so I can get more opportunities.

But it is not always about earning. It’s also about learning. I have gained a lot from other Posties blogs. Because Posties write about the things they love, you get to learn more about them, about their passion, their life. You also learn more about a certain product, or probably discover a great product that you never knew existed.

It’s really not hard to be a part of their growing community. If you have a 90 day old blog, and a PayPal account, submit it for approval. It’s like having ads on blogs. The opportunities are endless and as long as you make time to do some quality posts, you will never go wrong with them. So far my earnings have paid for many of my purchases online. And now I am now saving up for a Canon DSLR camera with my earnings!

Think about it, you have a blog, you write about the things that concern you. Why not get paid to write about the things you love? I know I am!

Hectic Week = Stress+ Realizations

Hello! How's everyone doing? I hope all of you are in great shape.

I've been such a bad blogger this week. Tsk tsk! I really am sorry for not posting any updates. It's been really overwhelming at work this week and I don't think things are going to settle soon. Heaven help me. lol!

I'm tired and stressed but I really love what I'm doing. I guess I am just overwhelmed with the many tasks pouring in it feels like I want to just put camp in the office - sleep there so I could finish the mountain of tasks.

Allow me to be sentimental for a moment. You know, there are times I'd ask myself if I still want this job or just give up and leave. But then, I walk the streets and see things that make me realize I am blessed to have a job that pays the bills and buys us the food we need - with some luxuries on the side.

I see the kids selling "flower leis" (sampaguita) on the streets just so they could have food to buy. I see people sleeping on different parts of the sidewalk with only boxes as mats. And it is at these moments that I feel ashamed for even whining about how hard my job is and how tired I am.

I am truly humbled and I thank God for opening my eyes and letting me realize how blessed I am. I may not have the luxuries of the rich and famous - but I have food to eat everyday, a job that pays the bills, a home with a comfy bed to sleep in. In short, I have enough of what I need.

I have to go sleep now but I promise to update soon.

Nits, Amore and Mich, sorry I haven't gotten around to doing the meme's you've tagged me with but I promise to do it during the weekend. :)

The Birthday That Was

I had a wonderful 29th. A simple celebration with my family last Saturday, capped with a night out of fun with friends at Pier 1 in Metrowalk. Stupid me forgot to bring the camera so sadly no pictures. :(

Sunday saw me an hubby lazing around enjoying time with each other. Dinner was fabulous with my in laws throwing in some spaghetti, chicken and dessert. Happy stomach! :)

Thanks to everyone who left some love and left me some wishes. I truly pray your wishes for me will come true this year. I fervently hope the giver of life would smile at me and hubs this year.

So anyway, without further ado, I was able to pick out the random name already. :)

Congratulations Nits! I'll send you a PM in a little while. :)

The Dreamer in Me

When I was a kid, I remember my mom leaving for the US and coming home with a lot of stories about the wonderful places she went to. The place that stuck to my mind was Universal Studios Orlando in Orlando, Florida. I don't know why. I grew up with Disney, I wonder why Disneyland never really stuck with me. lol!

Eversince then, I have always dreamed of going to Universal Studios and enjoying the rides and attraction but the closest I came to was Enchanted Kingdom in Laguna. (lol!)It doesn't even come close to Universal Studios but it'll do - for now. :)

So, I enetered my dream world again and started browsing through the Universal Studios Orlando site and looked for really great deals on Universal Studios Tickets. My husband was really looking at me like I was some crazed woman. His eyes saying I am wasting my time looking for deals I am not even taking. I shrugged him off. It's my day today and I have every right to dream. Dreams are free, aren't they?

besides, I just know, one day, I'll be standing at the center of that theme park, wide-eyed with childlike wonder, mouth agape, freeing the child in me.

What can I say, I'm a dreamer and I always dream big.

A Bid with a Twist

Has any of you joined a "bid" before?

Well I haven't. I see it in movies though so I pretty much know that the highest bid on an item usually wins.

But did you know that there is a place where everything is done differently? Yes, bid4prizes allows the lowest unique bidder to snag the coolest of prizes! Plasma TVs, Apple iPhone, and even BMWs! I haven't won anything though but their prizes are soo cool!

You have to have the lowest unique bid to win the prize. For example, on the Appli iPod, you can bid between 4-30 cents. You bid 10 cents. If anyone else bids for 10 cents, then that is not the lowest unique bid anymore. Oh, and don't worry, you won't have to pay for any of the prizes, they're completely free - even the shipping is free!

It's fairly easy to do so what have you got to lose right? Go ahead and join, who knows, one of us will be lucky enough to snag one of those great prizes!.

Starting a New Year

ETA: The leave some love thingy is now officially closed since my birthday is officially over lol! I will be announcing the winner tomorrow. Got to get some shut eye. Had a great day with family and friends. More stories to follow. ;)

Oh by the way, I forgot to change the date of my post. My birthday is officially May 5 not May 4 lol! I am definitely getting old!

I am turning a year older today. :)

It's been a wonderful year for me, storms and all. I am thankful for the many blessings that I've received. My family and friends, my career, a husband who loves me. Yes, even for the laughter and the tears.

Yes, the Lord has blessed me with much and for that I am grateful.

So here's to another year of life, love and happiness. I just pray that our long dream of having our little miracle will come this year.

So, in honor of my birthday, I am going to give out something to you - yes! YOU! lol! Leave me some love on my comments box and I'll do a ramdom draw of names and the winner will get $10 on his / her paypal account or a $10 gift certificate on the store of your choice. For my Bebots, a $10 gift certificate on any digiscrapping store you want. :)

Winners will be announced here. Don't forget to leave a link to your blog or at least an email address so I can contact you if you win.

Toodles!

Interrupting the Silence

To say that my Google PR Rank went down to 0/10. I was like, What the??? Just when I was updating my blog and doing my best to (hopefully) put in quality posts, I went down to 0?!?! This is crazy!

Well, Google is currently doing an update so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this is all due to the dance. I read somewhere that the page rank dances when Google's updating.

Almost all the PR checker sites are saying that I'm a 0. Even those that predict. I just hope they're wrong. Oh well, if that's the case then, I'd have to work pretty hard on this blog. This is driving me nuts. lol!

I am getting my own domain very very soon! :) I'll post an announcement once I have it up and running. :)

Catching Fire!

Oooh! Another movie for me to watch out for! Catching Fire will come to theaters November 22, 2013!  Here's a sneak peek of the releas...
